The World’s Highest Minimum Temperature Was Recorded In Oman Recently And It Sounds BRUTAL

If you think the weather in the UAE is particularly toasty right now, we’d love to hear what you have to say about the weather in Quriyat, Oman…

It now has the distinction of recording the highest “minimum” temperature in known history on Tuesday. The coastal city clocked in a low temperature of 108.7°F, i.e. a crazy 42.6 degrees Celsius on June 26, 2018.

We’re feeling hot just by reading it!

The temperature remained the same for about 51 hours

According to weather records expert Maximiliano Herrera, this sets a new world record for the hottest 24-hour-minimum temperature ever. Not only that, the weather remained as such for nearly 51 hours, as per CNN

If that wasn’t enough, the previous high-minimum temperature record for any 24-hour period was also held by Oman at 41.9 degrees C (107.4°F), which happened at nearby Khassab Airport in Oman on June 27, 2011.

Phew….

Definitely something to keep in mind if you’re making travelling plans to Oman anytime soon.
