Come September the weather cools in Dubai and the Spinneys Dubai 92 build-up rides kick off.
Four build up rides of different lengths give all abilities the opportunity to stretch their legs, test their cycling abilities and the final race gives all cyclists a goal for the season.
This year, the final race took place across Dubai on Friday 14, here are the best parts:
And streets shut to make way for the race.
Spinneys Dubai 92 has the full support of the Roads and Transport Authority and Dubai Police a full schedule of road closers was announced in advance of the race.
All ages are welcome and this year saw riders as young as two years old took part in a Mini Challenge – a balance bike course helping kids to find their balance on a bike.
This includes over 230 who travelled from outside of the UAE to take part. Nine years on and this well organised event continues to draw all level cyclists from all over.
Competitors could take part in the UCI Gran Fondo, the Spinneys Dubai 92km Cycle Challenge, the Oakley 53km Challenge or a junior challenge.
Highly talented riders take part in the UCI Granfondo World Series across the world – there are 21 qualifier events in total, with winners being awarded the coveted rainbow jersey. Not a race to be sniffed at, riders are just short of the pro mark but show up for a competitive race.
Spectators had a comfortable place to catch the race, riders had a spot to chill post-race where Spinneys had set up a feed of pancakes, burgers and more to feed the masses.
