If taking the Dubai Metro is the most critical aspect of your every day morning commute then we’re here to serve some good news.
You will soon be able to travel in new trains, the first batch with 50 trains would arrive in November this year, according to The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA).
These new coaches have been upgraded with a swankier design and come with cool digital maps.
The announcement of the new trains was made by Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, after he attended the technical test run of the first train at Alstom Company’s factory in Poland.

The new design of the luggage compartment has been modified keeping in mind the standing commuters.
The upgrade in design would also help in accommodating 696 passengers instead of the current 643. The coaches also feature an illuminated digital map of the Metro route and stations.
The technical test run of the trains has also been described as a “milestone in the construction of the Route 2020 Project” by Al Tayer.
