The Man Who Helped Bring Tommy Hilfiger And Tim Hortons To Dubai Says Retail Needs To Stop Becoming ‘Boring’

Avatar

As of 2017, the Dubai-based Chairman and Founder of Apparel Group, Nilesh Ved, was listed as one of the wealthiest Indians in the Gulf region. This should come as no surprise since every cup of your French Vanilla latté is from a Tim Hortons nearby, and that Tim Hortons is his.

Ved has made a name for himself in the retail fashion industry, but what does he have to say about the emergence of social media and how it’s changing the way consumers shop?

He shared all that and more in this week’s Dubai Works podcast, with Lovin Dubai’s very own managing director, Richard Fitzgerald.

Nilesh says retail has become boring and other retailers need to keep customers engaged

Coming from the man whom, along with his wife Sima Ved, has helped turn Apparel Group into one of the world’s biggest fashion and lifestyle retail conglomerate- Ved definitely had a lot to discuss about the changes in retail and talks of it being a ‘dying’ industry.

With 75+ brands under its belt: like Aldo, Skechers, Call It Spring, Tim Hortons and more than 1,000 stores across the globe- there is no stopping Ved, who says there’s still room to grow.
