Gulf Fall Out Update: The US Called Saudi To Talk About Fighting All Manners Of Terrorism In The Region

The Deputy Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and Minister of Defence HH Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz received a call from the United States Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson.

The call was recorded by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) and according to the report, the government officials spoke about the latest developments in the region, ‘the joint efforts of the two countries to combat terrorism and extremism, as well as how to stop terrorist organisations from receiving financial support, to achieve security and stability in the region’.

The last week in a nutshell:

The region was shook politically after the the UAE, Saudi, Bahrain and Egypt cut diplomatic ties with Qatar. Land, sea and air routes into Qatar have been blocked by the countries after they accused Qatar of terrorism links.

Most recently, Kuwait has been acting as a mediator between the countries to work out a solution.
