In the latest revelation in the Qatar crisis which saw Arab nations including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt cut ties with Qatar, the countries have now narrowed their list of demands from thirteen to six, which could hopefully mean an early resolution to the regional conflict.
A fortnight ago, the nations outlined a list of thirteen demands, which were subsequently dismissed by Qatar.
According to local reports Saudi Arabia’s UN Ambassador Abdallah Al Mouallimi statedto UN correspondents that a new list had been drawn up which asks Qatar to commit to six principles to combat terrorism, the principles were drafted at a meeting in Cairo on July 5.
And following that theme, the list includes preventing financing to terrorism groups and suspending acts of provocation and speeches inciting hatred or violence.
It’s not clear whether the call to shut down the Al-Jazeera television network is included in the most recent demands.
