The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has denied claims it prevented Qatari nationals from performing Umrah at the Grand Holy Mosque in Mecca.

Rumours circulated this week claiming Saudi had turned away Qatari nationals amid the fall out between Qatar and Gulf states, however reports on the Saudi Press Agency have confirmed the information is untrue.

The General Presidency of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque Affairs made a statement

“The directives of the Kingdom’s leadership emphasise providing services and facilitating affairs of Umrah performers from all countries of the world, including brothers from the State of Qatar.

“What is circulated in the social media on preventing Qatari Umrah performers from entering the Grand Holy Mosque is untrue.”
