7 Reasons Why The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens Is One Of The Greatest Events On The Dubai Calendar

Avatar

HANDS DOWN.

An incredible three-day long rugby event, that’s transformed into something that’s loved by all ages, (rugby fans or not!) …the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens needs no introduction

People have a HUGE LOVE for Sevens, here are seven (!) reasons why

1. The atmosphere

Basic to start.

It’s impossible not to feel the buzz of the event as soon as you arrive. Whether you’re young or old, a rugby fan or not, Sevens is a HUGE three-day community event. You can pay for a day pass on Friday or Saturday, get a season pass for the three days OR go for FREE on Thursday to check out the venue. Worth it!

2. The costumes

People go ALL OUT.

Not even on Halloween do people go AS insane with costumes as they do for Sevens. Shout out in particular to everyone who get together and go in group costumes – they always rock!

This is pure happiness!

3. It’s a blast for the entire family – and FREE for kids under 12

Bounce is back with the Bounce trampoline park, there’s a Quest adventure zone, (climbing walls and archery tag for kids over the age of 14 years) AND the Sabaa 7s Club (inflatable obstacle course, trampolines, face-painting, arts and crafts and more). PLUS there’s even a creche for the young ‘uns, so parents can take a breather…dreamy!

And this year for the first time, there’s a waterpark for kids (eight to 14 year-olds) – pack your swimmers!

The best bit? Kids under 12 can attend Sevens for FREE!

4. A Britney tribute is coming – can you cope?!

This feels like an announcement that needs to be shouted about: This year at Sevens there’ll be a Britney Spears impersonator.

She’s coming straight from Vegas to perform live on the main pitch with all the Spears classics ready to go…Yaaasssssssss queen!

5. The STANDS!

The stands at Sevens need no introduction.

NOTHING beats sitting in the sun taking in the world class rugby on the steps with your mates.

6. The tunes

Whoever works on the playlist for Sevens can take a bow.

All the classics like “Sweet Caroline’ and anything from Queen… during the rugby breaks, the tunes get turned UP, people hop on their feet and it’s the MOST fun!

Take a moment for this classic

7. The world class rugby

Last but CERTAINLY not least:

It’s 15 minute halves, seven-aside rugby. The players are skilled and speedy and these guys and girls are basically pros on the pitch. You’ll get totally caught up with the action on the pitch.
