It Looks Like Saudi Arabia Is Opening A Visa Free Destination Where The Usual Conservative Laws May be Lifted

It looks like the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is opening it’s doors a little wider and making travel a more accessible and attractive option for tourists.

The kingdom is opening a new visa-free destination, which will cover 34,000 square kilometres along the Red Sea coast and will feature hotels, water sports, nature reserves, protected coral reef, Arabian wildlife and 50 islands.

The area would be governed by ‘semi-autonomous’ law, which means the usual women’s dress, and other conservative sanctions would be lifted. According to a Bloomberg report, via an official statement, the area will be governed ‘by independent laws and a regulatory framework developed and managed by a private committee’.

This is what’s to come…

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced the launch today

The majority of nationalities will not need a visa, while the remainder will be able to obtain visas online.

Capital for the build will come for Saudi’s Public Investment Fund and work is expected to begin in 2019.
