Time travelling’s an exciting concept, and it is one that most of us find ourselves imagining every so often.
Imagine waking up to a grand dinner at a royal palace in centuries-old India, complete with every traditional dish to exist. The vibrancy in hues of natural ingredients like turmeric, spices and rice coming to life with each aroma.
That’s how it feels walking into Masala Library, established by pioneering food columnist, Jiggs Kalra.
This is how Indian cuisine should be made and served.
I know, I know – even the name bears regality to it. But if you get a vision of how this new Indian resto looks in the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, you’ll understand!
The same owner of Masala Library is the legend behind that of Farzi Cafe in City Walk too, so you just KNOW what quality to expect from this new venue.

Located in the world’s tallest 5-star hotel is Masala Library, with both a bar and restaurant space, it simply isn’t limited to a gastronomic experience but SO much more.
From the way it’s been set up, it seems like a modern escape into the ancient Indian world.

The cuisine served at Masala Library is a union of exploration and research across various Indian kitchens by Mr. Jiggs himself. Taking in all the authentic delectability of Indian food and representing them in the most contemporary way means there’s just no disliking this.
Signature dishes include deconstruction of samosa, chicken tikka (prepared THREE ways), the Rajasthani Mutton Curry, and the Mushroom Chai and Jalebi Caviar- to name a few.
