Dubai Just Made Reporting City Issues Way Easier!

Dubai isn’t just building skyscrapers,  it’s building smarter ways for residents to shape the city in real time.

In a major digital upgrade, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Digital Dubai have enhanced the AI-powered Madinati service on the DubaiNow app, in partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Dubai Municipality.

And honestly? It’s a game-changer.

See a damaged pavement? A broken traffic signal? A water leak? Just snap a photo and upload it!

The AI-powered “Madinati” agent analyses the image, pinpoints the location, classifies the issue, and sends it directly to the right government entity,  all in seconds. Most cases are resolved within one to five working days.

No complicated forms. No guesswork. Just instant action.

Backed by leadership, built for the community!

This enhancement follows the vision of H.H.Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the world’s most beautiful and advanced city.

It also aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Civility Committee, established in September 2025 by Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

What leaders are saying

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, said enhancing “Madinati” strengthens government integration and uses artificial intelligence to elevate quality of life and Dubai’s urban appeal. He emphasised that AI is central to the upgrade, improving accuracy, speeding up responses, and placing people at the heart of the development process. His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), also reaffirmed DEWA’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure quality and strengthening Dubai’s global leadership in government excellence.

His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, described the launch as a milestone in strengthening community partnership. He stressed that empowering residents to instantly report issues reflects Dubai’s commitment to transparency, shared responsibility, and preserving the city’s beauty and architectural harmony.

His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, encouraged all residents to use the service, noting that every individual is a key partner in enhancing quality of life!

Since its launch in 2007, Madinati has received over 300,624 submissions (proof that Dubai’s community takes pride in its surroundings)

Now, the service is smarter than ever. It’s also available via the RTA’s Mahboub virtual assistant on WhatsApp, aligning with RTA’s 2024–2030 Strategy to become a leading data-driven authority with future-ready infrastructure.

“Madinati” isn’t just a reporting tool. It’s a statement.

It shows how Dubai blends artificial intelligence, government integration, and community engagement into one seamless experience — turning residents, visitors, and citizens into active partners in shaping the city.

In Dubai, the future isn’t coming.

You can literally upload it.

Why this really matters…

The upgraded Madinati service supports the goals of the Dubai Civility Committee and strengthens collaboration across the Government of Dubai. It’s all part of building a smarter, more sustainable future not just for the city, but for the wider United Arab Emirates too.

At the end of the day, this isn’t just about tech,  it’s about giving everyone a voice in making Dubai even better!!!
