Footage of cars with empty number plates got shared wildly in Dubai last week… and now we know why.
A number of videos showed cars on streets, at petrol stations and in mall parking, all with empty number plates, and the big question was, ‘WHY?!’
It’s just been revealed that the videos were part of a campaign to highlight ’empty plates’ around the world. *Lightbulb*
The “1 billion meals campaign” was launched by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, the aim is to raise 1 billion meals for underprivileged families across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
This campaign was created to bring awareness to empty plates, using number plates, which we know are a hugeeee status symbol in Dubai.
And an affluent audience can attend to bid on the unique plates.
Every dirham will go towards the ‘1 billion meals’ campaign’, which is feeding hungry families in the region.
Every dirham raised = 1 meal is provided.
Genius!
