This month we have teamed up with Italian shoe brand GEOX to bring you the best of the outdoors in Dubai. Well-being is the first and foremost inspiration behind the GEOX Fall/Winter collection, as is what we will be getting up to in Dubai now that the weather is cooling. GEOX, known as the breathing shoe due to it’s comfort walking technology, becomes a “Comfort Cool” accessory combining creativity, lightness and flexibility, to make life easier and distinguish every step in its functionality and appearance, quality and style, in all weather conditions and anywhere, from the city streets to outdoor activities.

Sun, sea, shopping and snacks – everything you could possibly want for a spot of weekend relaxation is quite literally on your doorstep in JBR. As one of Dubai’s most popular spots, you can pitch up with towels and lunch boxes and tan on a shoestring, or make the most of the recently developed amenities and hire a lounger for much less than you’d pay at a beach club. Warning: it gets busy so arrive early-ish.
One of Dubai’s hidden gems, this semi-remote beach park at the end of Al Mamzar corniche is worth the 40-minute drive from the Marina end of town. Strewn with palm trees and rocky enclaves, it has much more to catch the eye than some of the more ‘straight-up’ beaches that line the coast of the UAE. There are even barbecues to use on site so you can make a day of it.
This is perhaps ‘the cool one’ with a trendy, laid-back crowd and regular foodie pop-ups to discover. You can’t deny it’s Instagram potential either, with pretty kites littering the sky (hence the name) and great distance shots of the iconic Burj Al Arab to your left. Beach essentials? Your mates, an appetite and your camera.
One of the oldest free beaches in Dubai, this is a favourite among those old-school Dubai-dwellers who have called the Emirate home for a while. Given its proximity to the residential villas that line Jumeirah 2, it’s also a big hit with families, so perhaps not one for the wild, young things. Clear, smooth waters make it impossible to resist a swim too.
If you like your sand with a side of sport, this is the beach to hit. With it’s spacious running track, you can run parallel to the Persian Gulf while glancing over your shoulder and seeing the Burj Al Arab rearing up out out of the shore. Given its location, slap bang next to the hotel’s luxury beach clubs, you’re granted a pretty impressive view without parting with a single dirham
Maybe the most secret of all, this beach is sneakily hidden between the Madinat Jumeirah and Mina Seyahi on Al Sufouh road. Take the exit that looks like it’s going nowhere, off-road it a bit through some sand dunes and discover a secret, mostly empty, stretch of beach to call your own. It also faces onto many of the stationary super-yachts – so playing ‘guess how much the boat costs?’ is a fun way to wile away the hours.
We’ve got some good news…For every AED 1,000 spent at GEOX, customers will receive a free pair of co branded handmade wooden GEOX sunglasses or watch. You’ll find GEOX stores in The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, The Galleria Mall, and Marina Mall Abu Dhabi.
