We’re all extremelyyyyy picky when it comes to choosing a home…and that’s no bad thing.
Whether your priority is to be near a school, public transport or local amenities, the one thing none of us should compromise on is nearby green space. (Who needs a gym membership, eh?)
And Dubai is lucky that so many of its communities have access to green recreational space. You don’t need to travel to get your work out in (it IS Dubai Fitness Challenge after all) so we had a scour of dubizzle (the number one property platform in the UAE) to bring you the best spots.
Al Barsha is hands down the unsung hero of Dubai neighbourhoods. The Mall of the Emirates is your neighbour, your public transport needs are sorted by the Sharaf DG Metro station and (why we’re here) the Al Barsha Pond park is an absolute pleasure to visit.
For both families and fitness lovers; a lush green park space and spongey 1.3km running track surrounds the man-made pond. This spot is filled with picnickers, fitness classes and running clubs at the weekend and in the cooler months, the Ripe Market calls Al Barsha Pond home.
All three of the above neighbourhoods service Safa Park, and if you want to live nearby one of Dubai’s top parks, these are your spots.
Safa Park is HUGE (it’s 64 hectares) but manages to maintain a close community feel. There’s a boating area, BBQ spots, a jogging track, tennis and basketball courts, as well as plenty of wide open spaces used for cricket and football games. So whether your workout routine is a solo one, or you do it part of a group, Safa Park has got you sorted.
JLT is the humming neighbourhood we all know and love, it’s made up of 68 sky rise towers comprising of a mix of residential and commercial real estate with a whole load of home-grown quirky restos thrown in.
What you may not know is that JLT also offers ample green public park space to residents, there are playgrounds and sand pits and a massive 555,000sqm space for walks, jogs, runs and you’ll even find fitness classes taking place there daily. If you’re in need of motivation, the constant activity will give you major ‘fitspo.
This is a park worth travelling to even if you don’t live nearby…so residents in the vicinity are extremely lucky to call Al Mamzar home.
Al Mamzar park includes a beautiful beach for running and plenty of lush open green park space. So whether you’re into running, swimming, cycling, football or even skating, this fab park is your spot.
If rolling greens right next to your doorstep is important to you, mark down Victory Heights as your new dream destination to call home.
It’s a spacious, family-friendly community located within Dubai Sports City, with world class cricket and golf within walking distance along with gyms, fitness clubs and plenty of play areas.
