Lovers of Japanese food, you’re in for a TREAT.
Umi Shio is a Japanese pop-up within Summersalt Beach Club, it sits right next to the pristine private beach at Jumeirah Al Naseem and it’s an exploration of Japanese and South-American eats.
If treating yourself to a spectacular menu and Japanese cocktails in luxe surroundings with unparalleled views of the iconic Burj Al Arab sound dreamy to you, read on, here’s what’s in store.
The team is led by Chef Cristian and are all trained with extensive knowledge of both Japanese and South American cuisine and service.
Under the watchful eye of Jumeirah’s Chief Culinary Officer Michael Ellis, Michelin Guide’s former Global Head for Europe, Umi Shio is making moves as the Japanese resto in town worth visiting.
Start your journey of discovery into Japanese and South American cuisine with a mix of five types of crudo, soups, tempura, seafood and meat, using ingredients such as miso, yuzu and plenty of truffle and lime. All of these are BIG on flavour.
Main dish highlights include Saikyo miso black cod and white rice and miso-marinated seabass, and is your mouth-watering yet? Because these both sound DE-LISH!
Desserts continue with flavours of Japan with a selection of Mochi (yum!), cheesecake brûlée served with Mandarin sorbet or, (dreaming of this) espresso glace.
