MasterChef USA Champion Shaun O’Neale Is Coming To Dubai For An Exclusive Residency And Masterclass

Foodies, food connoisseurs, and aspiring chefs will get a kick out of this news.

MasterChef US Season 7’s winner, Shaun O’Neale, is coming to Dubai with a grand masterclass where he will give residency for FIVE exclusive days, giving everyone a chance to taste his delectable 5-course tasting menu.

If you kept up with Season 7, then you’ll recall the build-up to Shaun’s winning moment- and the famous risotto that won him the lauding of Chef Gordon Ramsay himself. Shaun O’Neale is iconic and revered for being the only winner from the show to feature in TWO further seasons, as well as host the MasterChef Celebrity Showdown in 2017. This is his second time coming to the city, following his first visit with other MasterChef champs Simon Wood and Nikita Gandhi at MasterChef, the TV Experience’s opening party a few months back.

Learn from the master himself

Learn the tips and tricks of the trade right in front of the champion O’Neale himself, where he will teach you the methods to not just cooking food, but creating an experience out of it. After all, that’s what MasterChef’s all about- the ability to combine flavour, aesthetic appeal, use of new, old and otherwise peculiar ingredients and MAKING IT WORK.

Only 10 aspiring chefs (as stated, most are already sold out!) will get to enjoy Shaun’s ‘Three C’s’ philosophy to his masterclass, which is: to cook, chat and chew.

“I want to take my guests on a whirlwind tour of my career, my influences and my techniques. I love cooking but there’s always something special about cooking for smaller groups – you feel the engagement and actually get to know your guests, I can’t wait,” said O’Neale.

An experience this would be, indeed.

Saturday, November 30 is when the masterclass will take place from 5-7pm.

Shaun will take his eager students on an apron-wearing, engaging lesson where you’ll learn to make TWO of his signature dishes

The truffle mushroom and white asparagus risotto and lemon meringue redux. Guests will be guided to make their own, as O’Neale discusses his choice of ingredients and the process behind it.

The best part? A fabulous, intimate dinner with the pro Chef himself following the class, with a food-only option available for AED 489 per person, or an expert beverage pairing available at AED 649.

Don’t worry about not getting the chance to take part in the masterclass, because Shaun will be taking residency in Dubai five days following the masterclass. That means FIVE days to try out the gastronomic experience, that features an exclusive 5-course dinner menu at the MasterChef, the TV Experience, Millennium Palace Marina.

From November 28- December 2 dinner service for the 5-course tasting menu that will feature all the signature dishes of Shaun, the fabulous American style cooking for AED240, or AED420 with bevvies.

This is what the FAB menu will consist of:

  • The menu kicks off with the Kombu Cured Scallop amuse-bouche – hand-dived scallops, lemon champagne sabayon foam, caviar, chives and basil flowers, followed by the Oxtail Tortellini starter – braised oxtail and mascarpone filling with sweet pea, fennel, beef consommé, and aged goat cheese.
  • The two main course options are Herb Crusted Loin of Lamb – lamb loin, fresh herbs, smoked aubergine puree, fava beans, morels and Madeira sauce or Truffle, Mushroom and White Asparagus Risotto, one of Shaun’s winning MasterChef dishes which features truffle, chanterelles, cremini, shiitake and white asparagus.
  • Next up, the Tomato Tartare – heirloom tomato, tomato sorbet, balsamic reduction and basil – offers Dubai residents a savoury amuse-gueule before the indulgent dessert of Lemon Meringue Redux – Pavlova, passionfruit curd, diplomat creme, blueberry compote and macadamia cookie.
