To celebrate the opening of the Middle East’s BIGGEST Nike store, at Dubai Mall, the city became a playground of Nike pop-ups that residents got involved in.
#WePlayDXB is about enjoying the playground that is Dubai, playing sport, playing around, and celebrating the store opening.
And so Nike gave residents the chance to celebrate with amazing pop-ups around town.
Here’s how it went down.
Al Barsha basketball court got taken over by Nike with free basketballs being set out for everyone to enjoy some pickup games and shoot some hoops.
Ballers LOVED the concept.
Peeps got their kicks polished and upgraded, with Beats and Cuts outlets offering a sneaker-cleaning service.
Fresh for the weekend.
Funky Nike nail-art or hair-braiding at Pastels Salon – it got everyone ready for the streets, and a busy weekend. The nail-art was TOO cool.
All this running around meant people needed to keep well fed.
Nike hand-picked the best of the city’s shawarma joints to partner with, from Al Mallah to Just T in Oud Metha, Four Plus cafeteria and LOADS more.
Dubai’s infamous sand artist, Nathaniel Alapide created some incredible ephemeral art on the shoes of the Jebel Ali beach.
So much talent!
Cafe Society dusted off them cappucinos and lattes with a fun DXB Nike swoosh – making for prime Instagram fodder.
