Who remembers the days of playing tag, or bulldog, in school and running with carefree abandon… just for the fun of it?!
According to research, 70% of kids who participate in organised sports will quit by the age of 13, but WHY?! As soon as rule books come into play, the fun falls away, so Nike has launched a global campaign to bring back the FUN in sports, and it gives legs to new ways to think about sports and how we play.
Nike Play New is for all ages, to encourage the simple act of FUN IN SPORTS. It’s not about winning, it’s about falling down, getting up, and trying again! And as a REMINDER of the fun stuff that can get us active, Nike has introduced cool fitness concepts that will inspire a lifetime of play.
Play improves family life and improves physical and even emotional strength, it benefits our life! So, Nike wants to bring back the joy in sports and inspire play for all ages.
And to make it happen, the flagship store in The Dubai Mall got busy with fun fitness sessions and games spread across four weeks. Not your regular workouts, the jam-packed schedule included dance, basketball and bouldering.
To continue the message, people got their workouts done at a fun-fitness weekend; Sports Day Reimagined with bouldering sessions at Rock Republic, dance classes led by Sara Karrit (@afrobysara) at the Theatre of Digital Art (ToDA) in Madinat Jumeirah, and skateboarding sessions led by Karim Nasser, an Egyptian-born UAE skateboarder at The Dubai Hills Park.
