Ramadan tents are everywhere in Dubai. But every now and then, one comes along that feels intentional, not just built for the season, but designed for the moment. Layalina Majlis at Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah, Dubai is exactly that.
The journey starts before you even reach your table. The hallway leading into the Majlis is softly lit, lined with lanterns and flowing fabrics that immediately shift the mood. There’s henna artistry happening as guests arrive, and live oud music playing in the background. It sets the tone without being overdone.
Then you step into the main space… and the view does the rest.
On the left, the skyline of Dubai Marina glows in the distance. On the right, the Arabian Gulf stretches out, with Ain Dubai clearly visible across the water. At sunset, it’s genuinely stunning. Once night falls, the blue-hour atmosphere makes the entire Majlis feel even more special.
Layalina offers a mix of open seating and traditional Majlis-style tent seating, giving guests flexibility depending on the vibe they want. Whether you’re there with family, friends, or colleagues, the layout works.
Despite hosting up to 220 guests, it never felt chaotic. The space is well organised, comfortable, and easy to navigate. Service throughout the evening was attentive and smooth, no long waits, no confusion, just efficient hospitality.
The buffet itself offers a wide selection of Middle Eastern and international dishes. Standout options included:
Chicken Mandi: flavourful and comforting
Lamb Ouzi: rich, tender, and a Ramadan essential
A variety of Arabic sweets and pastries
Kunafa rolls and traditional biscuits that were easy favourites
The buffet station is positioned right along the waterfront view, which somehow makes going back for seconds even better. There’s a strong dessert selection as well, though the mains were the highlight of the evening. Overall, the food delivered on both variety and quality.
The atmosphere becomes more social, shisha is available during Suhoor hours, and live entertainment keeps the energy going. It feels relaxed, not rushed, the kind of setting where conversations stretch longer than planned. And beyond the dining experience, Layalina also supports charitable initiatives aligned with the spirit of Ramadan, reinforcing that this space is about more than just food and views. Suhoor timings run from 9:30PM until 1:00 AM on weekdays and 2AM on weekends.

Layalina Majlis doesn’t rely on over-the-top theatrics. Its strength is the setting, waterfront views, Dubai’s skyline, soft lighting, live oud, and a buffet that delivers the Ramadan classics people actually want. It’s comfortable, scenic, well-organised, and thoughtfully put together.
If sunset views, good hospitality, and a relaxed Ramadan evening by the water sound like your thing, this is one to add to the list.
