When global airline disruptions left travelers stranded, a UAE-based team quietly stepped up to help people get back home.
The goal was simple: help people to get back home to their families safely.
The coordinated operation focused on assisting vulnerable passengers who were stuck due to the travel disruption.
Among those who received their help include Italian citizens, an elderly British national, families traveling with young children and passengers who required additional medical oversight during the journey.
Specialist planning and operational teams worked behind the scenes to organise the flight, making sure everyone could travel back to Europe.
The effort drew appreciation from many. HE Lorenzo Fanara, Italian Ambassador to the UAE, thanked RPM and ICATT Response Plus for their support, saying,
“I am very grateful for their excellent organization of today’s flight from Sharjah to Bergamo which will allow many Italian stranded tourists to return home”
He also acknowledged the support of philanthropist Shamsheer Vayalil, who played a key role in enabling the mission.
Behind the scenes, teams from RPM, ICATT Response Plus and Prometheus Medical International worked closely with airline partners to mobilise passenger transit procedures and coordinate logistics quickly. Their goal was to make sure the journey ran smoothly from departure to arrival. Company leaders say the mission highlights how critical repatriation support and travel risk management services have become during periods of global aviation disruption, particularly when vulnerable travellers require medical oversight during transit.
With operational hubs across the Gulf, Europe and Asia, the group continues to expand its international medical evacuation and aeromedical services, providing rapid-response clinical support to governments, corporations, insurers and travellers worldwide.
For the organisations involved, the mission was never just about arranging a flight, it was about helping people during a moment of uncertainty and making sure they could return home safely.
