Ramadan is expected to start on May 27; Adel Al Saadoon, a Kuwaiti astronomer told KUNA, the Kuwait News Agency.

The beginning of Ramadan is determined by moon sightings. However, this can be disputed by those who believe the moon should be seen first with the naked eye versus others who use astronomical calculations to predict moon sightings.

Ramadan in Dubai

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Eating, drinking and smoking in public is to be avoided, although some restaurants remain open with screens up until sundown.

Whether you’re fasting or not, Ramadan is generally a time to give back to the community and to respect others. Bear this in mind throughout the month!
