Employers MUST Honour The Labour Laws On Ramadan Working Hours

Avatar

The Holy Month of Ramadan has been announced, and starts tomorrow, aka Thursday, May 17

The UAE’s labour laws dictate that all workplaces must reduce working hours by two hours per day – though many claim they don’t receive this.

Regardless of whether you’re Muslim/fasting during the Holy Month, you’re still entitled to a reduce in your working hours.

All employers SHOULD honour the rules, as per article 65 of the UAE labour law.

But they don’t.

You can report your workplace, or another, anonymously

By calling the Ministry of Labour, call: 800 665

You can make an anonymous tip – and the authorities do make spot checks throughout the month.
