A gang has been arrested in Dubai for stealing 100 million Thai Baht (approximately AED11,770, 770).

They were raided in their accommodation by Dubai Police and the whole scene was captured on camera.

The gang is made up of approximately 25 members and Dubai Police collaborated with Thai Police to apprehend the group, who specialized to stealing from bank accounts in Thailand and other Asian counties.

A massive international operation

The gang were hiding out in an unnamed residential area

24 Thai men and one man from Taiwan were in hiding in a residential area to give the impression they were a family.

H.E Maj. Gen. Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commandant of Criminal Affairs at Dubai Police stated Dubai Police received a tip-off regarding the gang and their fraudulent operation. 

“Immediately after receiving the information, a team of Dubai police was formed to raid and arrest the gang. After locating their hiding place, which is located in a residential area, our team raided and arrested all members of the gang consisting of men and women with about 150 smart phones and 40 laptops, as well as some technical devices that helped them commit these kinds of crimes.”  – H.E Maj. Gen. Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri

Dubai Police were thanked for their efforts and innovation in apprehending the gang.
