Dubai’s ruler HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai recently visited the Souq factory facilities.
Souq, now the region’s largest e-commerce site, was originally a start-up, the brain-child of Syrian entrepreneur Ronaldo Mouchawar, who relocated to Dubai.
This story of success is not totally unique and shines a light on the UAE as a land of opportunity, then and now.
In January, as part of episode one of ‘It’s a Dubai Thing’, a docu-web series exploring different cultural celebrations in Dubai, where we meet the people that make up this city and discover how much of their national identity remains part of their lives, Lovin Dubai explored Aussie culture.
There are just 16,000 Australians living in the emirates, however their impact on the community proves Dubai is very much the land of opportunity (and Barasti is still the go-to spot for Aussies on Aussie National Day).
