{"id":11100,"date":"2018-08-22T09:21:42","date_gmt":"2018-08-22T09:21:42","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2018-08-22T09:21:42","modified_gmt":"2018-08-22T09:21:42","slug":"sheikh-mohhamed-bin-zayed-phone-call-with-narendra-modi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lovin.co\/dubai\/en\/abu-dhabi\/sheikh-mohhamed-bin-zayed-phone-call-with-narendra-modi\/","title":{"rendered":"India Might Not Accept UAE&#8217;s Generous AED368 Million Donation For Kerala Flood Victims As Per Some Reports"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"c-adunit c-adunit--mpu\">\n<div id=\"mpu\" class=\"c-adunit__container\"> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Indian state of Kerala has been hit by the worst flood of the century, and UAE has gone above and beyond to help its neighbouring country.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lovindubai.com\/community\/uae-has-pledged-an-incredible-100-million-aed368-m-towards-kerala-relief-and-rehabilitation\" target=\"_blank\">The UAE offered a generous $100 Million or AED368 Million<\/a> (around INR 700 crore) as financial assistance for relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims.<\/p>\n<p>But, according to official sources, India is unlikely to accept any foreign financial assistance for flood relief operations in Kerala. The reports suggest that the government has decided to rely ONLY on domestic efforts to get the situation under control.<\/p>\n<p>As per the reports doing the rounds, India hasn&#8217;t accepted any foreign aid from a country since 2007 and the policy isn&#8217;t likely to change now.<\/p>\n<p>The final decision will be taken by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).<\/p>\n<h3>HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed had a discussion with Indian PM Modi over telephone<\/h3>\n<p>HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, discussed the rescue and relief operations in Kerala during a telephone call with the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.<\/p>\n<h3>He tweeted about the conversation and expressed his sincere condolences to the victims and their families<\/h3>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I spoke to the Indian Prime Minister about the devastation caused by the floods in Kerala. My sincere condolences to the families of the victims. We stand with the Indian people.
