To say that Dubai (more specifically the UAE) has no women’s rights is a sentence so preposterous, it’s almost laughable.

To the ignorant who doesn’t know any better, we drive here, and no, we don’t have to cover up.

The newest generation of women in our country are not only respected but they’re hella empowered and feel safe and secured.

We aren’t saying Dubai is perfect, no city is! But the UAE’s commitment towards women’s rights is definitely praise-worthy.

So, naturally, when a dude on Twitter said that ‘Dubai has everything but women’s rights,” women came out in full force to school the guy and make him regret this flippant remark.

I left my office in Dubai at 10 pm yesterday and walked the half a km empty stretch to the metro station and didn’t once think I should walk faster or look behind me. In Delhi, at that hour, it would be ‘asking for trouble’. Safety is also a woman’s right.
