{"id":11933,"date":"2018-12-03T09:39:59","date_gmt":"2018-12-03T09:39:59","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2018-12-03T09:39:59","modified_gmt":"2018-12-03T09:39:59","slug":"visa-amnesty-extended-by-one-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lovin.co\/dubai\/en\/news\/visa-amnesty-extended-by-one-month\/","title":{"rendered":"ANNOUNCEMENT: UAE Leaders Have Extended The Country&#8217;s Visa Amnesty By One Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"c-adunit c-adunit--mpu\">\n<div id=\"mpu\" class=\"c-adunit__container\"> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The successful visa amnesty scheme in the UAE, which started in August and granted all visa-overstayers a chance to modify their status, has been extended for ONE month on the occasion of UAE National Day.<\/p>\n<p>The centres will once again start accepting applications from tomorrow, December 4 until December 31.<\/p>\n<p>The programme, which already saw a 30-day extension was supposed to end on November 30, 2018. <\/p>\n<p>In fact, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Lt Colonel Ahmad Al Dallal initially <a href=\"eneral%20Directorate%20of%20Residency%20and%20Foreigners%20Affairs,%20Lt%20Colonel%20Ahmad%20Al%20Dallal%20toldGulf%20News%20the%20deadline%20is%20not%20planned%20to%20be%20extended\" target=\"_blank\">said that the deadline is not planned to be extended<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>The amnesty is now entering its fifth month of operation<\/h3>\n<p>The scheme originally started on August 1 and thousands of residents who have been staying here or entered the country illegally have already benefited from the amnesty.<\/p>\n<p>These people were given a chance to leave the country without having to pay fines for overstaying their visas.
