Right now Abu Dhabi is gearing up for a historic visit; when the head of the Catholic Church will visit Abu Dhabi, join an important religious meeting and host a public mass.<\/p>\n
This is the first time ever a Catholic Pontiff has visited the UAE.<\/p>\n
Pope Francis<\/a> was invited to the UAE by HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nayhan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to participate in a Human Fraternity Meeting which brings top religious leaders together, including the Grand Imam of Al Azhar Mosque, Dr Ahmed el-Tayeb. The heads of church for the prominent world religions will discuss peaceful collaboration and dialogue between religions.<\/p>\n And over 120,000 people are expected to attend.<\/p>\n The deadline for tickets ended yesterday and the registry site has been updated<\/a> with information for attendants. If you hold a residence Visa in the UAE or Oman, note that your tickets should arrive to your selected Parish soon.<\/p>\n<\/p>\nA mass will take place at Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on February 5<\/h3>\n
