American singer R.Kelly will reportedly request permission from United States authorities to visit the UAE.<\/p>\n
The artist is currently embroiled in a high-profile sex abuse scandal, his passport has been surrendered and legally he cannot leave the country.<\/p>\n
According to international reports, he will put forward a request on Friday referencing three shows at UAE venues from April 17 to April 19, these engagements were arranged prior to his legal battle.<\/p>\n
\n“If you can’t play a show… If you can’t go out on tour, they’re not streaming your music anymore obviously you’re going to have financial problems,”<\/p>\n

Much of the singer’s sexual misconduct came to light after a documentary, ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ detailing sex abuse allegations was released in January. The singer was subsequently arrested, although no formal charges have been made.<\/p>\n
Court proceedings continue on March 22, where Kelly faces ten counts of criminal sex abuse.<\/p>\n
R.Kelly was bonded out of jail by his family who paid $160,000 in back child support and the singer is reportedly struggling to support his legal expenses.<\/p>\n
