Yesterday, residents received confirmation there would be no public or private sector holidays for Isra and Mi’raj this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n The change is in line with a holiday alignment between the two sectors<\/a>, announced by the government in early March.<\/p>\n It’s not all bad news, however, as the announcements made by the UAE Government Twitter account DO mean the private sector will, in fact, have more holidays this year.<\/p>\n Beginning with Eid, when depending on the moon-sighting, residents COULD get up to five days holiday.<\/p>\n The UAE Cabinet approves public holidays for the public sector for the years 2019-2020, and grants the private sector equal holidays. (This jumps from the 12 public holidays which were granted for the private sector in 2018<\/a>).<\/p>\nThe holidays for 2019 and 2020 were confirmed in March<\/h4>\n
