Le Classique is a French fine-dining restaurant\u00a0located in one of Dubai’s premier golfing venues,\u00a0Emirates\u00a0Golf Club. While the\u00a0club has other dining options\u00a0available, Le Classique is\u00a0without a doubt\u00a0the\u00a0club’s swankiest\u00a0option, (which is saying a lot considering how luxe the club is).\u00a0Guests can enjoy a five-star dining experience in an\u00a0elegant, relaxed setting.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0restaurant, like so many others in Dubai, hosts a Friday brunch, however unlike the rest, Le Classique\u00a0has acknowledged one very important\u00a0thing; that ladies (for the most part) who brunch\u00a0consume a\u00a0lot less than men do. And so, they have adjusted their prices in favour of the female species\u00a0and are now offering ladies\u00a0the\u00a0‘Rose Chic’ brunch option every Friday. That’s pretty much\u00a0the same delicious brunch..but cheaper.<\/p>\n

A tastefully decorated restaurant,\u00a0overlooking the 18-hole\u00a0golf course;\u00a0this is the perfect place for a long-lunch or boozy (optional)\u00a0brunch with the girls…here are six things we loved about it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

1. The venue<\/h3>\n

It’s a beautiful-looking\u00a0restaurant\u00a0with\u00a0floor-to-ceiling windows, covering one entire\u00a0side of the venue,\u00a0which\u00a0open\u00a0out onto a\u00a0terrace. The terrace itself\u00a0has a view of the first tee\u00a0on the magnificent Emirates\u00a0Golf Course\u00a0on\u00a0one side and the driving range on the other, there’s seating for\u00a0about 35 people, all of which were occupied when we dined.\u00a0The inside is super-stylish\u00a0with\u00a0minimal design and the outside follows the same theme;\u00a0the restaurant is\u00a0not overly formal\u00a0and\u00a0it strikes\u00a0the right balance so guests can really\u00a0relax while enjoying\u00a0the impressive\u00a0surroundings.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2. The five-star service<\/h3>\n

The most annoying (and admittedly lazy) thing about most brunches is having to traipse back and forth, popping random bits of different\u00a0meals onto your plate. The food temperature is never perfect and meals are never as fresh as you would like.\u00a0This\u00a0is not a problem here. The chefs\u00a0prepare\u00a0each dish individually and your\u00a0hot starters and mains (except\u00a0the suckling roast) are\u00a0served, exquisitely\u00a0presented, to your\u00a0table. The service is fast, and the staff are incredibly helpful without being overbearing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

3. The decadent\u00a0starters<\/h3>\n

We loved the wide selection of cured meats and cold starters which included sweet salad with Iberico beef, smoked salmon and our personal favourite; the Scallops Carpaccio. All prettily-presented in well-portioned dishes. The three\u00a0hot starters were served together\u00a0on a flat-wooden chopping board;\u00a0confit squid, bulgar &\u00a0courgette\u00a0and\u00a0pan seared foie\u00a0gras, which\u00a0was cooked to perfection and served on\u00a0perfectly toasted bread.<\/p>\n

4. The roast suckling and individually prepared mains<\/h3>\n

What beats a freshly cooked roast suckling? Absolutely nothing. And that’s a fact. After our mains of\u00a0slowly cooked lamb shank flavoured with cardamon\u00a0(which fell off the bone), and (slightly) undercooked scallops with a pea puree, it was time for the\u00a0roast. Superbly\u00a0cooked with crispy\u00a0crackling and\u00a0sides of roasted carrots and baby\u00a0corn, peas cooked with onions and square-cut creamy dauphinois potatoes, this plate was a special treat. Other mains prepared individually by the chef included chicken filled with prawn, seared black cod and fresh quinoa salad, confit duck leg and loads\u00a0more. There really was something for everyone.\u00a0<\/p>\n

5. The desserts and ladies cocktails<\/h3>\n

Would it really be brunch if we didn’t over indulge on desserts and drinks? A chocolate fountain with fresh fruits, indulgent chocolate tarts and mousse, and sweet crepes were the order of the day followed by ‘pink’ cocktails;\u00a0raspberry mojitos and strawberry daiquiris made with fresh fruit at the bar. Perfection.\u00a0<\/p>\n

6. The post-brunch happy hour<\/h3>\n

As with all good brunches, when the drinks stop flowing, nobody is ready to go home. Post-brunch, the bar hosts a happy hour from 3.30pm –\u00a05.30pm. Once we could move again, (after much-too-much chocolate mousse) we took our drinks to the sofas outside and enjoyed the afternoon sun. It’s a great spot\u00a0to endure a food-coma, although watching all the active golfers did make\u00a0us feel a tad lazy!<\/p>\n
