{"id":20743,"date":"2020-01-08T12:05:48","date_gmt":"2020-01-08T08:05:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lovindubai.com\/?p=20743"},"modified":"2020-01-08T12:05:48","modified_gmt":"2020-01-08T08:05:48","slug":"emirates-cancels-baghdad-flights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lovin.co\/dubai\/en\/news\/emirates-cancels-baghdad-flights\/","title":{"rendered":"Emirates Has Cancelled Today&#8217;s Flight To Baghdad For Operational Reasons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following <a href=\"https:\/\/lovindubai.com\/news\/iran-tensions-us-aircraft\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a decision by\u00a0The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)<\/a> to cut flights over Iran, Iraq and volatile regions, Emirates announced it has cancelled today&#8217;s flight to Baghdad.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report in <a href=\"https:\/\/gulfnews.com\/uae\/transport\/emirates-and-flydubai-cancel-flights-to-baghdad-1.68879107\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gulf News,<\/a> January 8 flights have been cancelled:<\/p>\n<div class=\"story-block\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cEmirates flights EK 943 from Dubai to Baghdad and flight EK 944 from Baghdad to Dubai on 8 January have been cancelled for operational reasons.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"story-block\">\n<p>We are carefully monitoring the developments and are in close contact with the relevant government authorities with regards to our flight operations, and will make further operational changes if required.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"story-block\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>As always, the safety of our passengers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority and will not be compromised\u201d. <em>Emirates spokesperson<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--infeed--><\/p>\n<h2>This comes after Iran&#8217;s retaliation on US forces this morning in Iran<\/h2>\n<p>Last week&#8217;s assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani has lead to rising tensions in the region. This was followed by a retaliation attack from Iran in the early hours of Tuesday morning, in which Iran fired missiles at two Iraqi military bases, which was hosting U.S.-led coalition personnel. No casualties have been reported at this time.<\/p>\n<p>Donald Trump tweeted following the Iran attack this morning<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">All is well!
