Now imagine you actually moved home. That’s just the tip of the iceberg;\u00a0inquisitive bodies\u00a0have ALL\u00a0SORTS of irritating\u00a0questions for you to answer…and that\u00a0is\u00a0just ONE\u00a0of the downsides\u00a0you would have to face if you ever decide\u00a0to make the big move home.<\/p>\n

Here are fifteen more…<\/p>\n

1. None of your mates live at home anymore<\/h3>\n

Think you’re special because\u00a0you moved abroad? You’re not. This is Generation Emigration and the\u00a0chances you’ll be Billy-no-mates if you move home are pretty high.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2. You’ll have no excuse not to go to family weddings<\/h3>\n

Being separated by a long-distance flight\u00a0is usually\u00a0reason enough not to attend,\u00a0but once you’re home you can\u00a0say hello to pricey gifts, wasted holiday days and overly-familiar\u00a0cousins.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Entertaining your followers with casual snaps by the world’s tallest building\u00a0or on\u00a0Insta-fab yacht parties? Chances are, peeps\u00a0will quickly bore of\u00a0dreary weather pics with\u00a0you in your winter woolies.<\/p>\n

A mani-pedi, brow tint\u00a0and the\u00a0necessary threading is standard procedure here\u00a0in Dubai…but not where you’re going my friend.<\/p>\n

11. You won’t be that cool\u00a0aunt, uncle or cousin who arrives home yearly with extravagant gifts from exotic (read: usually American)\u00a0stores.<\/h3>\n

You might have to actually get to know the littlies in your family and the thought\u00a0of that is slightly\u00a0repelling.\u00a0<\/p>\n

12. Home probably\u00a0hasn’t got\u00a0the\u00a0guaranteed* sunshine\u00a0that Dubai has<\/h3>\n

We know we said we wouldn’t harp on about the weather but we are pretty lucky here.\u00a0<\/p>\n

*Apart from the odd, super exciting\u00a0storm (which\u00a0you might even get a day off work for,\u00a0so you can hardly complain about THAT).<\/p>\n

…and carrying your own groceries,\u00a0pumping your own petrol, being your own handy-man\u00a0(the list is endless).<\/p>\n
