This is what Mint Leaf of London in Emirates Financial Towers (not to be confused with Emirates Towers)\u00a0in DIFC is like.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0mild Indian<\/h3>\n
Mint Leaf has two branches in London and opened in Dubai two years ago. It is a contemporary Indian restaurant, preferring to serve mild dishes, with the spicy versions on offer as well. This suited me perfectly\u00a0as I don’t do to well with spicy food, however I do like Indian cuisine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The ambience<\/h3>\n
The place is hard to find. The building isn’t obvious for those that don’t frequent DIFC and when in the building, you need to be told what elevator and floor to get. It could be signposted better. Once inside, the open style kitchen is nice, but you also don’t want to walk into a kitchen. It’s a bit warm, so ventilation could be improved. Once seated, you are likely to get a table with a view \u2013 it\u2019s shaped like half a circle with glass walls overlooking South facing Dubai. The music was pretty atmospheric and that swung is into a good mood.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The food<\/h3>\n
We went
\nfor the set non-vegetarian menu.\u00a0The starters, see below, were really
\ngood, a nice selection of meat grills and tandoori options\u00a0but could have
\ndone with a bit more sauces. We had the sampler dish of:\u00a0sunehre jheenge,
\nsarson salmon tikka, tandoori saunfiani cod, Lahori murgh tikka,\u00a0gilafi
\nlamb seekh kebab and adraki lamb chops.<\/p>\n
The mains were a typical Indian meal. We had a mixture of lamb,
\nchicken and duck dishes.\u00a0They\u00a0hit the spot.\u00a0The deserts were
\nimpressive, especially the home-made ice-cream. The overall meal structure of
\nstarting with meat, followed by traditional Indian dishes and a fusion of
\ndesserts is an attempt\u00a0to mix east with west, and they managed to pull it
\noff well.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We\u2019d suggest sitting at the bar, either before or after your
\nmeal, as the choices of mocktails, cocktails and cigars are pretty extensive. Mint
\nLeaf does a good job at being both a nice bar and a nice restaurant at the same
\ntime.<\/p>\n

When should one\u00a0go?<\/h3>\n
Overall,
\nI would definitely go back to Mint Leaf mainly because it has a perfect mix of
\nfood, views and atmosphere. Good restaurants are all about striking the right
\nbalance and this place does it.<\/p>\n
A cool time to check out the place would be…<\/p>\n
– Ladies night\u00a0on Monday: it\u2019s all about live music
\nand\u00a0three complimentary drinks for ladies plus 30% off food and drinks.<\/p>\n
OR<\/p>\n
– Weekend brunch: A six-course \u00e0 la carte menu offered on
\nFridays and Saturdays from 1pm to 4.30pm at AED 195 (non-alcoholic),\u00a0AED
\n320 (house beverages) and AED 370 (bubbly).<\/p>\n
Note: the healthy options available include fisherman\u2019s prawns (black tiger prawns
\nwith lemongrass, kaffir lime and garlic) and masaledaar bharwan mirch (roasted
\nbell pepper bursting with diced beetroot, squash, sweet potatoes, peas, quinoa
\nand paneer).<\/p>\n
