Legendary philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi died on Friday at a hospital in Karachi following a prolonged illness.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He was undergoing treatment for kidney-related issues at the hospital for the past few weeks but his condition had deteriorated earlier on Friday\u00a0and he was breathing with the help of a ventilator.<\/p>\n
His funeral will take place on Saturday in Karachi.<\/p>\n
Known as \u201cAngel of Mercy\u201d, Edhi devoted his life to the poor and destitute. He\u00a0was internationally\u00a0recognised for his social work. Six decades ago he had\u00a0established a welfare foundation that\u00a0he oversaw together with his wife, Bilquis Edhi.\u00a0<\/p>\n
