Taxi drivers who fall asleep at the wheel will get a wake up call with a new system being implemented by the Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC).\u00a0<\/p>\n
CEO\u00a0of DTC,\u00a0Dr. Yousef Al Ali announced the move in a statement outlining the improvement in the rate of traffic accidents taxi cars were involved in – dropping down to 0.23 accidents per 100,000km from 0.61 per 100,000km in 2009.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The DTC is intending to launch a driver monitoring system via on board cameras to spot events of declining attentiveness or sudden sleeping of taxi drivers to avoid potential accidents.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
