Since the middle of June, more than 1,000 people have been killed, 33 million people are affected and 500,000 people have been displaced and are currently living in relief camps in Pakistan, according to figures released on Monday by the New York Times.<\/p>\n

To provide relief, the UAE’s Ministry of Defence – represented by the Joint Operations Command \u2013 has begun operating an air bridge to transport humanitarian aid provided by the UAE to Pakistan, according to Wam.<\/p>\n

The relief aid includes shelter materials, humanitarian needs, food and medical parcels for those affected by torrential rains and floods, with the aim of contributing to supporting efforts to alleviate the suffering of the affected people.<\/p>\n
