A 21-year-old woman is facing charges of theft and assault after an altercation between her friends and a Swedish man.<\/p>\n

According to international reports<\/a>, the woman was out with friends who were visiting Dubai, when the group spotted a man sleeping on a couch in a foyer in DIFC.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The group proceeded to take photos of themselves with the man, before he woke up and began punching the people – who fled the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The man called police after the fact to make a complaint, and has since transferred the complaint into the woman’s name.<\/p>\n

The woman, who says she was not involved in the incident, has had the charges transferred to her name as the relevant parties have now left the UAE.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The woman is also charged with stealing the man’s glasses\u00a0<\/h3>\n

Which, according to media reports, she ‘picked up as she was worried they’d get broken, and put them in a nearby bin’.<\/p>\n

The incident happened in 2016, and the woman is awaiting court proceedings.\u00a0<\/p>\n
