Lollipops containing marijuana<\/a>, luggage stuffed with marijuana<\/a> and now a farm with more than 1,000\u00a0marijuana plants.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is the latest in a series of drug-related crimes in the city. Dubai Police have arrested ten Pakistani men, between the ages of\u00a020 and 50, after they discovered 1,000 marijuana plants (that’s about\u00a07,615 kilograms of the drug)\u00a0at Al Faqa,\u00a0a farm in a remote area of Dubai.<\/p>\n

A policeman from the\u00a0anti-narcotics department told The National<\/a> that they were\u00a0tipped off about one of the defendants and after investigations they found out about the farm. They then obtained warrants before arresting the men\u00a0at the farm.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The plants were grown in the middle of the farm\u00a0around other types of plants so they could be\u00a0hidden. The police also found\u00a0dried marijuana and\u00a0marijuana compressed into plates around the farming tools.<\/p>\n

One of the defendants stated that the drugs were prepared for people who would come to the farm to consume it. In addition to\u00a0charges of growing and possessing marijuana, seven of the defendants have also been charged with\u00a0consuming marijuana while the 50-year-old has been accused of consuming morphine.<\/p>\n

None of them have\u00a0entered a plea. The verdict is expected on 29\u00a0November.<\/p>\n
