A Dubai couple was rescued after being stranded at sea off the coast of Yemen, making their plan of crossing the Indian ocean to the United Arab Emirates come to an end. The couple endured a 22-hour towing operation amid treacherous stormy conditions before finally reaching safely on an island.

During a 22-hour rescue operation, the boat endured rough conditions while being towed from the Indian Ocean to Socotra.

The boat named Freya, along with its four crew members, lost their ability to steer and was adrift on their way from Kenya to Dubai. Luckily, they were later rescued by Yemeni fishermen on a traditional wooden dhow and towed 50 miles to Socotra on July 28.
