Over his 40+ year career in Rhode Island, Judge Caprio became famous for giving people a fair chance and looking at their personal struggles before making decisions. His TV show Caught in Providence went viral, with billions of views online. That\u2019s how he earned the internet\u2019s nickname: the nicest judge in the world.<\/em><\/p>\n

His family confirmed on Instagram that he died after battling pancreatic cancer, remembering him for his warmth and belief in the goodness of people. Just a day before his passing, he shared an emotional video from his hospital bed, asking people to keep him in their prayers. He captioned it: \u201cAs I continue this difficult battle, your prayers will lift my spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n
