Word from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is that the final 14 buses are en route from China and should arrive soon

Meanwhile, work has already kicked off on a spanking-new Zero Point charging station.

But here’s a bit of tea…this charging station faced delays thanks to not one, but TWO cancelled tenders. However, the third time’s a charm as CDA sealed the deal at reduced rates.

For now, drivers are set to start training, and temporary offices in containers are being set up.

The whole operation is expected to roll out within a month, with the buses hitting routes like Park Road, B-7, PWD, I-8, and I-9

Talk about a serious glow-up for public transit!

Not to be outdone, Punjab is rolling ahead with its own e-bus plans. 102 electric buses are coming to Rawalpindi next year to serve a sprawling 84-km route connecting hotspots like Taxila, Wah Cantt, and IJP Road.

This massive move is backed by a hefty PKR 4.7 billion, all set to combat pollution and improve air quality

Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan spilled back in June that these buses would revolutionize travel. Looks like the future of public transport is bright, green, and electric for the twin cities and beyond!
