It all kicked off in the early hours of Tuesday when a man, masked by his helmet, zoomed up to a government bank in G-9/4 and opened fire on a cash van crew

Chaos ensued as shots rang out, taking the life of one and wounding five others in the process. The assailant made a quick grab for the cash bag and sped off without a trace!

Not satisfied with his early morning raid, the same robber reportedly hit up a private bank in G-14 later that day. His tactic? A sneak attack, shooting the security guard in the leg before making off with the cash. In under 24 hours, Islamabad was rattled by multiple, brazen robberies!

The real story of this audacious spree began Monday, when attempted heists shook I-9 and G-15

The suspect targeted cash vans, wounding multiple guards in his bid to get away with the loot.

With the city on edge, Islamabad Police are under massive pressure to close in on the elusive culprit. The Inspector General shared that they’ve “solved 50% of the case” and are using digital surveillance and Counter Terrorism teams to try to end the spree.

However, they’re quick to point fingers at banks and private security firms for not following the standard security protocols, adding, “We can’t place a police officer at every bank.”

As Islamabad reels from this crime wave, officials are urging residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
