The first incident occurred in the F-11 sector, where two young boys, 8-year-old Ghulam and 5-year-old Waqas, were electrocuted while playing in the rain.

According to police reports, the children fell into water that had become electrically charged, leading to their untimely deaths.

In a separate incident within a private housing society, two more children, 10-year-old Sahil and 12-year-old Wasal, tragically drowned in standing rainwater. The bodies of all four children have been handed over to their grieving families, and investigations into the circumstances of both incidents are underway.

The monsoon season, while essential for the environment, poses significant risks, especially for children.

It’s imperative to take proactive measures to ensure safety during this period. Authorities are urging parents to supervise their children closely, avoid standing water, report exposed electrical wires, and ensure that electrical outlets are covered and insulated. Additionally, it is crucial to stay indoors during heavy rains and thunderstorms and educate children about the dangers of water and electricity.

Here are some important safety tips to keep in mind:

  • Avoid standing water and electrical hazards.
  • Supervise children during and after rains.
  • Report exposed wires and dangerous conditions to authorities.
  • Ensure electrical outlets are covered and insulated.
  • Stay indoors during heavy rains and thunderstorms.
  • Teach children about the dangers of water and electricity.

Stay safe folks!!
