Sharafat Ali, the SHO of Noon police station, faced the harshest disciplinary action.
Meanwhile, the SHOs of Shams Colony, Sabzi Mandi, and Secretariat police stations – Muhammad Yousuf, Irshad Ahmed, and Ashfaq Warraich – have each been penalized with two years of service confiscation for their failures.
But the shake-up didn’t end there. A Dolphin Force official was also dismissed after a bribery complaint was filed against him, further underscoring the department’s zero-tolerance policy for misconduct.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Ali Raza didn’t mince words about the significance of these actions.
“The punishment reflects the serious nature of the officers’ failures,” he stated, adding that those who fail to perform their duties or misuse their authority will face strict consequences, including legal and departmental action.
This decisive response comes amid growing concerns about rising crime in the federal capital, a city where residents and tourists alike count on swift and effective policing.
As Islamabad continues to evolve as a metropolitan hub, the expectation for efficient and trustworthy law enforcement has never been higher.
These actions aim to restore public trust and ensure that the capital’s police force remains effective and reliable.
