Hania Aamir was quick to address the scandal. Taking to Instagram, she labeled the videos as “fake and generated using AI,” making it clear that the content was a fabrication.

“These are not my videos,” she stated firmly, highlighting the dangerous misuse of AI technology.

Her response wasn’t just about clearing her name, it was a call for action against the rising tide of deepfake content.

Determined to hold those responsible accountable, Hania identified the account behind the deepfake videos and urged her fans to report it. Despite being blocked by the fake account, she managed to track down the source.

The account was found to be based in India and had changed names a staggering 18 times since its creation in an apparent attempt to evade detection

The account responsible for spreading the deepfake videos was subsequently disabled

Hania Aamir’s bold move is more than just a personal defense; it’s a plea for stricter controls on AI technology. She has called for better accountability and legal frameworks to tackle the misuse of deepfakes.

As deepfakes continue to pose a threat to public figures and private individuals alike, her advocacy shines a spotlight on the urgent need for regulatory measures.
