A high-level meeting, chaired by Dr. Malik Mukhtar Bharath, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Health, took place on Monday to tackle the growing pollen allergy crisis in the city. And the solution? Removing all wild mulberry trees—the number one culprit behind those dreaded allergies.

Islamabad has already seen major progress in the removal of these allergy-triggering trees.

Over 5,000 out of 7,000 wild mulberry trees in F-9 Park have been cut down…

Now, the focus shifts to the H-8 and H-9 sectors, along with areas near Shakarparian. By April, Islamabad will officially say goodbye to mulberry trees, making way for a healthier, pollen-free environment.

Dr. Mukhtar highlighted that environmental experts have identified these trees as the biggest trigger for pollen allergies.

So, in line with PM Shehbaz Sharif’s directives, the government is pulling out all the stops to clear them out. But don’t worry, it’s not just about cutting trees…

New, allergy-friendly ones will be planted to keep Islamabad green and clean

The goal? A healthier, sneeze-free Islamabad!

With the last phase of removals happening soon, residents can finally breathe easy—literally! Stay tuned as the city transforms into a pollen-free zone.
