Journalist Waheed Murad Abducted From His Islamabad Home

Another journalist has vanished under deeply troubling circumstances, and this time, it’s Waheed Murad.

The Islamabad-based journalist was allegedly forcibly taken from his home in Sector G-8 during the early hours of Wednesday…right in front of his family!

Murad’s mother-in-law witnessed the entire ordeal, claiming that unidentified individuals, believed to be linked to intelligence agencies—stormed into their house. The men, reportedly dressed in black uniforms and accompanied by police vehicles, not only took Murad but also manhandled his mother-in-law in the process.

His wife, currently in Canada, says the lack of information from authorities is nothing short of “mental torture”

Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has received a petition demanding immediate action to locate Murad and hold those responsible accountable.

This isn’t the first time a journalist has disappeared like this. Just recently, the brothers of Pakistani journalist Ahmad Noorani (currently based in the U.S.) were also abducted.

Rights groups, including the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, are raising alarms, calling these incidents a direct attack on press freedom

Senior journalists and activists are demanding justice and transparency!
