Rangers And FC Deployed In Islamabad Ahead Of PTI’s Big Showdown

Rohama Batool

The federal government is not taking any chances ahead of PTI’s November 24 power show in Islamabad.

In a move to “manage the law and order situation,” Pakistan Rangers and Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel will be on the ground starting Friday, November 22

This decision comes after PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan issued a “final call” for a massive rally, labeling it a protest against “stolen mandates,” “unjust arrests,” and the controversial push for the 26th constitutional amendment.

With political tensions heating up, the government has extended Section 144 in Islamabad for another two months.

Police across Punjab are also on high alert. The Islamabad police chief formally requested reinforcements, calling for 5,000 Rangers and 4,000 additional FC troops…

The Ministry of Interior has now greenlit their deployment under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The troops will be equipped with riot gear and operate under a clear command structure to ensure maximum control over the situation. The government hasn’t yet disclosed the exact locations of deployment.

Meanwhile, PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqqas Akram is rallying supporters with strong words.

Speaking at the Peshawar Press Club, he promised a turnout so massive that it would shake the government to its core

He also criticized the state for putting more effort into cracking down on political protests than addressing real threats like terrorism. “The government says they’re not worried, yet their actions scream otherwise,” Akram quipped.

As the showdown approaches, the atmosphere in the federal capital is getting tenser by the hour

With protests already sweeping the country and authorities doubling down on security, Islamabad is set to become the epicenter of Pakistan’s political tug-of-war this weekend.

All eyes are on November 24…
