This bold move is the first of its kind in the capital and aims to keep an eagle eye on traffic violations, rush-hour chaos, and all those pesky rule-breakers who think no one’s watching.

According to state media, the drones are now flying high to enforce road laws, capture real-time violations, and help manage traffic with much more precision than ever before

This comes on top of the already-in-place Safe City cameras and patrol cars, but this time…it’s next-level.

“By utilizing drone surveillance, we aim to reduce violations, ease traffic congestion and ensure the safety of all road users,”
— CTO Captain (r) Syed Zeeshan Haider.

The idea? Spot violations from the air and dispatch teams to hotspots before traffic builds up. It’s fast, efficient, and gives the ITP a bird’s-eye view of what’s really happening on the ground.

And it doesn’t stop there…this is just Phase 1. Soon, the ITP will expand drone coverage to more sectors and key city routes, taking Islamabad’s traffic control game to new heights, literally!
